MEMO in conversation with Samia Halaby

 Watch our conversation with leading Palestinian abstract artist and influential scholar Samia Halaby to discuss her book Drawing the Kafr Qasem Massacre, which won the Creative Prize at the Palestine Book Awards in 2017.

Although based in the United States since 1951, the Jerusalem-born art historian is recognised as a pioneer of contemporary abstraction in the Arab world. Through her writing and works, Halaby has actively advocated and raised awareness for the Palestinian cause and the rights of Palestinians.
